Egypt’s markets have become more global in recent years and the Suez canal has never been so busy. Due to this they have started restricting the flow of produce and taxing countries for the use. This decision has not been welcomed by most of the international community and Israel have called it an act of war on the global economy. To counter this, Israel have launched a new invasion of the Sinai Peninsula to gain access and control over the Suez canal. Israel thought this would be easy like the previous 6 day war in 1967 but have been surprised with the stronger defence of Egyptian territory. War has been declared between the two nations on 7th May 1982.
